Cinematic Teasers

About
DAVID ZAGAJŠEK
There comes a moment in every life when the noise begins to change. What once felt urgent becomes distant. What once seemed certain begins to fade. The voices, places, ambitions, victories, disappointments, loves, and losses that once defined us slowly settle into memory. Yet they do not disappear. They remain beneath the surface, shaping the landscapes we carry within ourselves.
At The Edge Of Sound And Silence was written from within those landscapes. The poems emerged across different stages of life, through movement and stillness, connection and separation, certainty and doubt. Together they form a journey through love and longing, disappointment and resilience, memory, freedom, hope, and the enduring traces of people, places, and moments that remain within us.
Music is never far away. Its pulse moves through the collection in rhythm, language, desire, rebellion, devotion, and release. Alongside it stands silence, not emptiness or absence, but the deeper silence in which memory becomes clearer, loss softens, and understanding begins.
Conceived as a cinematic collection, At The Edge Of Sound And Silence brings together poetry and monochrome visual imagery in a sequence of interconnected scenes. Each illustration becomes a cinematic frame inspired by the atmosphere and emotional landscape of the poem beside it. The book offers no conclusions, only moments and the possibility that somewhere among them, a reader may recognize something of their own journey.
